THE COMMISSIONING PROCESS
From your brief to its place.
We guide your sculpture commission from the first brief through design approval, making, pre-dispatch review and delivery planning.
A CLEAR PATH FOR YOUR COMMISSION
Ideas move forward
through clear decisions.
We work with you from the first reference through the proposal, approved design, making and handover. We plan each stage around your chosen artwork and material.
STAGE 01
Share the brief
Our sculpture commissioning process starts with your idea and its setting. Send us a sketch, photograph, rendering or model, with approximate dimensions, quantity, destination and intended use. Tell us which features matter most and where you would like our advice.
We review the visual direction and site information with you, then identify the design and material decisions to develop. For a character or branded artwork, include the relevant permissions for the intended use.

STAGE 02
Define the proposal
We connect your creative direction with the scope of the commission. Together, we review the artwork, base, material, finish and any surrounding work. Your custom sculpture project scope identifies the design, components and services you want us to deliver.
We agree the proposal, responsibilities and approval points with you. The drawings, dimensions, appearance references and requested site services stay together as one coordinated brief.

STAGE 03
Approve the design and appearance
We work through the outline, proportions, details and dimensional layout with you. We agree the drawing, sample or appearance reference appropriate to your selected design and making approach.
Your sculpture approval path identifies the person approving the artwork and the accepted revision. If the size, pose, colour or arrangement changes, we review the change together before moving to the next stage.

STAGE 04
Review making progress
We agree progress reviews around your artwork and its material. The review connects the component being made with the approved drawing and finish direction, giving us a shared record for discussing the work.
We identify the required progress views and decisions with you. Forming, assembly and finishing are planned around the chosen design, with the relevant technical responsibilities included in the project scope.

STAGE 05
Review before dispatch
We bring the artwork, components and approved appearance together for the agreed pre-dispatch sculpture review. We work through the component list, packing arrangement and receiving information with you before dispatch.
We record the required acceptance items and outstanding approvals for the order. The final review follows your agreed design and scope, with the relevant documents kept together for handover.

STAGE 06
Coordinate delivery and the site
We connect the packed artwork with its receiving route and final position. Share access restrictions, unloading arrangements, door or lift dimensions and the available site information. We work through the delivery and installation responsibilities with your project team.
We agree the supplied components, handover documents and site interfaces. Where foundations, lifting, power or water connections are involved, the responsible parties review those requirements for the actual installation.
